Jose Mourinho was certainly impressed with Paul Pogba's performance against Manchester City, when he scored twice in the famous comeback, but the manager set the midfielder a challenge after that game.

He proposed that Pogba should be more consistent in games.

In his post match interview, he said: "I will tell you what I told [Pogba] after the [City] match and it's exactly what I told him - I don't expect you to be man of the match every week, I don't expect you to score two goals every week.

"I expect you to be consistent in a certain level. So, if you ask me, I'm expecting Paul now to be man of the match every week? No. If I expect him to score goals every match? No.

"But I expect Paul - and I think that's the challenge he has to put to himself - to keep a certain stability and not to have the good match and the so-so match and the bad match."

Eight days later, Pogba came into the Premier League tie against West Brom full of confidence after his derby heroics, but he really struggled to make an impact and was eventually substituted in the second half.

Rumours soon began to emerge of a move away from Old Trafford.

In fact, Jose Mourinho has reportedly 'ran out of patience' with the former Juventus midfielder and is willing to let him leave the club.

The Daily Mail report that Mourinho has included Pogba's name on a list of players who can leave Manchester United.

It has been a mixed few weeks for Pogba and when Pep Guardiola claimed that Paul Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, invited him to make an offer for the Frenchman during his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's game against Manchester United, plenty of eyebrows were raised.

His words certainly caused a stir online, but days later, Paul Pogba proved his doubters wrong against after a wonderful second half display against Manchester City helped Manchester United to a famous win at the Etihad.

After the full-time whistle, he went straight over to the Manchester United support and made a very clear point - that he is fully committed to playing for the club.

He was heard saying "don't believe the papers" as he pointed towards his badge.

Moments later, Manchester City boss Guardiola approached the former Juventus midfielder and had a few choice words for Pogba, who was previously linked with a move to the Etihad before he joined Old Trafford for a record fee at the time.

Guardiola congratulated the 25 year-old after his heroics during the game. He told Manchester City's official Twitter account the following after the incident:

"I congratulated him about the result." he said.

Do you think Pogba should stay at Manchester United? Would Mourinho be right in letting him go?
