It Looks Like Another AS Monaco Player Will Join Manchester City In €50m Deal

Just minutes after Manchester City reached a reported £60 million agreement with AS Monaco to sign Bernardo Silva, Pep Guardiola's side are ready to swoop again.

Despite being linked heavily with a move to Manchester United over the past three months, Monaco's Portuguese playmaker Silva has jetted into the North West to put pen to paper on a move to City.

And now Guardiola will reportedly make a €50m swoop for another Monaco star who has impressed in both the Champions League and Ligue 1 throughout the season.

According to the Telegraph, Pep Guadriola is optimistic about bringing Monaco left back Benjamin Mendy to the Etihad this summer.

Pep Guardiola has already sent a huge message to the football world after Manchester City began a shock clear-out, yesterday evening.

Despite appearing in 18 games in all competitions since the start of January, the club have confirmed that goalkeeper Willy Caballero will leave in the summer.

City also announced on social media that winger Jesus Navas, who arrived from Sevilla for £14.9m back in 2013, will also join Caballero is saying his goodbyes.

It looks like Manchester City are moving quickly to replace another player who has been released.

Gael Clichy, who has also been a regular in Guardiola's side this season, will leave the club this summer after making 39 appearances since August last year.

Mendy would be seen as a like-for-like replacement after the Clichy news emerged yesterday. The 22-year-old will reportedly sign a contract until 2021, according to Yahoo's @Julien_m_18:

Monaco's record transfer income was £151 million in 2015. so they are well on their way with a reported £60m for Silva and £30m for Mendy.
