Borussia Dortmund are doing some last minute business ahead of deadline day.

While the English transfer market is closed, transfer windows in Germany and Spain, among others, remain open.

Clubs in Germany and Spain have until August 31st to seal any potential deals. And ahead of Friday's deadline, Borussia Dortmund have snapped up a striker from Barcelona.

Paco Alcacer swaps Barcelona for Borussia Dortmund.

The Spanish striker joins on a one-year loan with the Bundesliga club having an option to buy him on a permanent for £20.9 million.

Dortmund, though, will shell out £1.8 million up front for the loan signing.

The 24-year-old has plied his whole trade in Spain but ventures away, and he's excited to join the German top flight.

"I'm really looking forward to playing in the Bundesliga soon," he said.

"It's one of the best leagues in the world and BVB, with their unbelievable fans and their famous South Stand, probably represent something magical for every football player."

Dortmund manager Lucien Favre is 'delighted' to capture the services of Alcacer.

"We're absolutely delighted that Paco Alcácer has chosen to join Borussia Dortmund and we're firmly convinced this type of player will be a good fit for our style of play.

"Paco proved his qualities during his younger years at Valencia, scoring lots of goals, and acquired special status there at just 22 years of age when he was handed the captain's armband. In Barcelona, he worked alongside some of the best players in the world on a daily basis.

"The fact that he's now taken the decision to make a fresh start after two years is attributable to the extremely tough competition for attacking places at the club."

How many goals will Alcacer bag this season? 15? 20? More?
