Barcelona have rejected a huge €100 million offer for starlet Ansu Fati, according to stunning reports in Spain.

The Spanish club received a €100 million from an unnamed "top European club" which was immediately rejected by Josep Maria Bartomeu on Thursday, per Sport.

The La Liga giants insist Fati, 17, is not for sale with Bartomeu adamant that the player will not be sold in the summer.

In a virtual board meeting, the Barcelona president said: "Ansu Fati is not for sale. We don't talk of that anymore."

The promising left-winger shot to fame earlier this season when he scored against Osasuna to become Barcelona's youngest ever goalscorer, at the age of 16 years and 304 days.

He continued to make a name for himself by scoring a goal in the Champion League to become the youngest goalscorer, at the age of 17 years and 40 days.

Fati is one of the brightest stars in world football, but Lionel Messi hopes the club take their time with the teenage sensation.

"I really like him and I try to help and support him. He's an amazing player and he's got what it takes to succeed," Messi explained.

"But if I look at it through my eyes, I'd like them to bring him on gradually, like they did with me when I started, taking things nice and easy and without putting pressure on him.

"You have to remember that he's only 16. I hope he keeps on enjoying it and that all the fuss around him doesn't have a negative impact on him because he has the quality to become one of the best."
