With four days still to go before making their return to Champions League action after five years away from Europe's elite competition, Spurs have already set a club record.

Tottenham are to play their Champions League home games at Wembley, this season and it's this change of venue that has allowed the North London club to break their home attendance record, previously set during a match against Sunderland in 1938, when 75,030 people attended.

Spurs' move to Wembley, brought about by construction work currently taking place at White Hart Lane with the club planning on moving into their new stadium for the 2018/19 stadium, mirrors Arsenal's move to the national stadium during the 99/00 season, when the Gunners also played their Champions League home games at Wembley.

Spurs will be hoping they have more success than their North London rivals, who crashed out at the group stages, that season, losing two out of their three games at Wembley. However, with over 80,000 fans set to turn up for the visit of Monaco, it looks as though Spurs' decision is already paying dividends.
