CSKA Moscow legend Igor Akinfeev has beaten Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to be named the most loyal player in football's top 10 leagues.

The 34-year-old Russian came through CSKA Moscow's youth academy and spent his entire playing career at the Russian Premier League side.

Transfermarkt compiled the 30 most loyal players in football right now, with Akinfeev coming out on top of the pile.

The former Russia international has been with CSKA Moscow for an astonishing 17 years and is slowly creeping up to the 18-year mark.

And Akinfeev's service to his current club puts him ahead of Messi, who has been at Barcelona for a whopping 16 years.

Messi is closing in on 17 years with Barcelona, but his long-term future at the Camp Nou remains in doubt after his public fallout with the club last summer.

West Ham legend Mark Noble rounds off the top three thanks to his impressive 16 years spent at the Hammers.

Posted below are the 30 most loyal players in the top 10 football leagues right now.
