Ticket Prices For The Champions League Final Are An Absolute Joke

UEFA do what they do best...

Loyal fans are again being taken for mugs when it comes to Champions League final tickets.

Liverpool overcame Roma 7-6 on aggregate to set up a showdown with 12-time European champions Real Madrid, who beat Bayern Munich in the semi-finals to reach a fourth Champions League final in five years.

Immediately after the final whistle was blown in the Italian capital after the second leg last night, Liverpool released ticket details for the final in Kiev and it's an absolute joke.

For starters, the five-time European Cup winners, along with opponents Real, have been allocated a mere 16,626 tickets for the crunch clash on May 26 - despite NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium having a capacity just short of 70,000.

As per the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool season ticket holders, official members and fan card holders who have attended at least seven Champions League matches this season - with the qualifying games against Hoffenheim not being taken into account.

Those who have been at six of Liverpool's European games this term will qualify for a ballot, as will Premier Club and Carlsberg Dugout seasonal members.

But as was the case with the FA Cup final tickets when details were released, the prices are unbelievably extortionate for your average match-going fan.

Category 1, the highest priced tickets, cost a ridiculous £394 - with the lowest, which come with a restricted view - priced at £48.

The vast majority of Liverpool's allocation (51 per cent) is in category three, where tickets will set fans back £140 or £109 for restricted view.

Fans desperate to see their side in a Champions League final for the first time in 11 years will no doubt do/pay anything to be at the game but with travel also to be taken into consideration, it's set to be a very expensive trip.

UEFA are showing how they value proper football fans yet again with these absolute joke prices. Most frustratingly, the poor prices and shoddy allocation doesn't come as a surprise and likely won't change anytime soon.
