The Story Of Why Adriano And Inter Milan Were So Overpowered On PES 6
Adriano and PES 6. Name a more iconic duo. You can't.
The Brazilian was by far the best and most overpowered player on the classic game courtesy of one specific attribute. We're of course talking about his ridiculous 99 shot power.
Adriano, who was joint cover star on the game alongside John Terry, would regularly rifle piledrivers in with that sledgehammer of a left-foot.
He did also have 90 attack and 98 balance but basically your whole strategy when playing as Inter was to give it to Adriano and shoot on sight.
Inter on the whole were so fun to play with. You had Javier Zanetti, Ivan Cordoba and Walter Samuel not letting anything past them and if they did, goalkeeper Francesco Toldo was there to thwart them.
Juan Sebastian Veron and Esteban Cambiasso formed a rock solid midfield pivot and allowed Dejan Stankovic, Obafemi Martins and Alvaro Recoba to provide support for the main man up top in Adriano.
But just why were Inter so outrageously good? Well, the story goes that Konami executive producer Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka' is an Inter Milan fan and he was unable to put his allegiances to the side in creating the game.

Adriano, along with Recoba, is said to have been one of the Japanese gaming developer's favourite players and that was reflected in his statistics.
In fairness though, Adriano could strike a ball with some serious venom in real life. The former Parma and Roma striker once claimed a free-kick against Real Madrid was hit at 105mph, which would make it a world-record.
Adriano, who Zlatan Ibrahimovic described as the most talented player he'd ever seen during an interview with SPORTbible, returned to PES 2019 as a legend a couple of years back.
In other bizarre football game stories, many years back on FIFA 2000 when the game did not having any lower league teams, EA Sports included third tier Port Vale in the game as a playable team.
The reason being? EA asked Robbie Williams, one of the best-selling artists of all-time and a big Vale fan, to use his song "It's Only Us" as the soundtrack and that was the condition he provided.
