UEFA have revealed the top five fastest players in the Champions League this season, going off their fastest speeds clocked in the competition.

The electric Mohamed Salah, who has 10 goals and 4 assists to his name in Liverpool's run to their first Champions League final for 11 years, tops the charts after racking up a top speed of 33.8 kph.

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford is second with 33.5, with Kyle Walker and Ousmane Dembele, two of the world's fastest players, tied in third on 33.3.

Then, in a fairly big surprise, Roma's Kostas Manolas completes the list. The centre-back, scorer of Roma's dramatic late quarter final second leg win over Barcelona, is not exactly known as a rapid runner but has clocked an impressive 33.1 this season.

Being honest, he probably racked up the speed when he celebrated the winner at the Stadio Olimpico in April.

Compared to the other four on the list, the Greece international only has 80 pace on FIFA 18 but he ought to get that changed by the time FIFA 19 hits the shops.

Interestingly, Salah tops the Champions League speed charts but the Egyptian ace is only the 19th fastest player in the Premier League.

Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger is sixth with 35.19km/h, while renowned speedsters Walker and Theo Walcott are in fifth and fourth with 35.21 and 35.23 respectively.

Spurs' Moussa Sissoko (35.33 km/h) is third in the rankings, Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt finished as the runner up on 35.42.

And it's PFA Young Player of the Year Leroy Sane who is the top dog. The Manchester City ended a glorious individual campaign with 14 goals and 17 assists in all competitions, destroyed defenders with his pace and trickery all season.

As an added bonus, with a top speed of 35.48 km/h recorded in the 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge back in September, the German is not only the league's speed king for 2017/18 - he is actually the fastest player in the Premier League since the collection of such data began in 2013/14.
