Wayne Rooney's D.C United Are Through To The MLS Play-Offs

Wayne Rooney has single-handedly changed D.C United's fortunes after making the move to the American capital.

Having been lurched at the very foot of the Eastern Conference table after winning just three games out of 17 prior to Rooney's arrival, England's all-time top scorer has fired on all cylinders to the point where they have now made the play-offs a few months on.

They clinched their spot thanks to a 3-1 win over New York City tonight, with Rooney bagging twice.

The Manchester United legend has been a complete revelation across the pond, having been involved in 18 goals in 19 games to help the team climb up the table.

You can talk about the MLS not being blessed with quality but 12 goals and six assists since joining speaks volumes of his impact.

We're just delighted to see him enjoying his football and continuing to do the business on the pitch.

Here's hoping Wazza and his teammates can go all the way in what would be an utterly remarkable sporting comeback.
