This would be something very special.

Zinedine Zidane may be refusing to give FC Barcelona a guard of honour for next week's El Clasico, but there have been calls for both sets of player give one to Andres Iniesta after the Spaniard confirmed he will be leaving after this season.

It's been on the cards for a while but the 33-year old announced that he is to end his glittering stint with the Blaugrana, with a lucrative move to China on the cards.

Iniesta, who has won 34 major honours in his career and basically completed football, couldn't hold back the tears in his press conference on Friday.

He will no doubt receive a special send off after all that he's done for the Catalan club, but newspaper Mundo Deportivo want the World Cup winner to get a special guard of honour whereby both Real and Barca players pay tribute to him on 6 May at the Nou Camp.

If anyone is deserving of such a gesture, it would be Iniesta. The article touches on what a wonderful man Iniesta is in addition to being a one of a kind footballer - his grief when his friend Dani Jarque passed away and when his wife had an unborn baby.

Real captain Sergio Ramos will of course be well aware of what a top bloke Iniesta is, but it remains to be seen whether the guard of honour does take place.

Do you think it would be the right call to celebrate one of the greats?
