Cristiano Ronaldo demonstrated his innate hang-time in Portugal's 7-0 thrashing of Andorra last night.

Captain Ronaldo was on target with a trademark header in the emphatic victory and slow motion footage captured his superhuman jump.

The 35-year old got away from his markers inside the area and followed up his clever movement by leaping above all those around him to head home his 102nd goal for his country in the 85th minute.

The slowed down footage from Esporte Interativo highlights just how ridiculous Ronaldo is in the air and how difficult it is for opposition defenders to deal with his special athleticism.

There was also an instance earlier in the game when Ronaldo's spring off the ground was so insane that he came close to injuring himself.

He headed over the bar after getting the timing slightly wrong but again the leap was just scary.

This has become a feature of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's game. He did it against Roma in a 2-2 draw this season and defied gravity against Sampdoria last term when he rose an incredible 2.56m and had a hang-time of 1.5 seconds of airtime before meeting Alex Sandro's cross.

The science behind it is truly mindblowing. During a series of biomechanic tests on the forward at the University of Chichester in 2011 as part of the Cristiano Ronaldo: Tested to the Limit documentary - it emerged that Ronaldo is able to jump higher than an average NBA player.

Able to generate 5G of G-force on take-off and helped by a thigh circumference of 62cm, he can reach heights of 44 cm from a standing start and 78 cm when he has a run-up - 7cm more than the average basketballer.

He also recorded a force of five times his body weight. Forget 'Air Jordan', it's all about 'Air Cristiano'.
