Cristiano Ronaldo rose an unbelievable 2.56m in the air on Wednesday night to help Juventus beat Sampdoria and stayed in the air for over a second.

Throughout his career Ronaldo has left people opened jawed at his incredible feats and in Serie A on the night that Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker came out he seemed to have used the force.

The Juventus forward met Alex Sandro's cross by rising 2.56m in the air, land to head, and got 1.5 seconds of airtime to head in the winning goal against Sampdoria.

Speaking after the match manager Maurizio Sarri was clearly impressed with his players ability, saying, "What did I think when I saw Ronaldo's goal? I thought, 'F**k, what a goal.

"I say, 'f***k because if I said, 'damn' it wouldn't be fair towards the goal."

Opposition manager Claudio Ranieri, who saw his team equalise Paulo Dybala's earlier goal before Ronaldo's winner on the stroke of half time, was equally amazed by the goal, saying, "Ronaldo did something that you see in the NBA (National Basketball Association), he was up in the air for an hour and a half.

"There's nothing you can say about it, you can only congratulate him and move on."

Unsurprisingly fan were also in awe of Ronaldo's feat:

Over the years Ronaldo may have become synonymous with some of his long range strikes, free kicks and acrobatic over head kicks but his impressive leaping is one of his underrated skills.

Manchester United fans will fondly remember his free kick vs Portsmouth but his leaping header against Roma may live just as long in the memory, as will he Champions League final header vs Chelsea in 2008.

Is the five time Ballon d'Or winner the best header of the ball ever?
