Santos To Wear Special Kit In Honour Of Chapecoense In Final League Game

Santos To Wear Special Kit In Honour Of Chapecoense In Final League Game

In yet another wonderful gesture made in support of Chapecoense, the Brazilian team who were involved in the plane crash that took the lives of 71 people, Santos have unveiled the special kit that they will wear as they take to the field in their final league game of the season.

Santos, who are still capable of finishing in second place in the Brazilian Serie A, revealed on their official club website that they will wear shirts featuring the badges of both Chapecoense and Atletico Nacional - the team Chape were scheduled to face in the Copa Sudamericana semi-finals before the horrible tragedy took place.

The black and whites play against bottom side American Mineiro in their final league fixture of the campaign and will also have the words 'Forca Chape' in green on their shirts.

The players will retain their usual squad numbers but will have the names of those who sadly died in the plane crash at the bottom of the jersey, in what is a classy move from Santos.

Sponsors of Santos will also have their emblems in green as a way of showing support and solidarity. The league on the whole will pay tribute to Chapecoense, with each team having part of the club's anthem on the back of the shirt.
