Cristiano Ronaldo Looked Absolutely Delighted To Be Back Playing At Old Trafford

You could see how much it meant to Cristiano Ronaldo to be back playing at Old Trafford tonight.

Ronaldo was turning out for Juventus against the team he spent six trophy-laden years with, establishing himself as a world star and winning the first of his five Ballon d'Ors.

United will always hold a special place in his heart and that was evident again tonight.

Whether it was when the Champions League anthem was playing or even during the first half, everytime the camera panned to the former Manchester United man, he had a beaming smile on his face.

Plenty of people on Twitter picked up on CR7 grinning like a Cheshire cat this evening:

Mere minutes into his Old Trafford return, Ronaldo was greeted by a fan who had invaded the pitch.

Even with a steward slipping, he was dealt with by security - having been pinned down on the edge of the penalty box while United were lining up to take an early free-kick.

However, he did just about succeed in his quest to be in Ronaldo's presence, crawling and stretching his arm out before eventually getting a high-five off the footballing phenomenon.
