Cristiano Ronaldo Is The Only Player Voted On All 15 FIFPro World XI Shortlists
Cristiano Ronaldo has reached an unprecedented feat after becoming the only player in history to be voted on all 15 of FIFA's FIFPro World XI shortlists.
The Juventus superstar, 34, received his 15th nod on Thursday as FIFA revealed the 55-man shortlist for the World XI.
And Ronaldo, who featured in the 2018 World XI, is tied for the most appearances in FIFPro World XIs at 12 alongside Lionel Messi.
The ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid star opened his account for the new season in Juventus' 4-3 victory over Napoli.
The 34-year-old Ronaldo showed little sign of slowing down in the match as he sprinted an incredible 92 metres in ten seconds.
But the five-time Ballon d'Or winner missed out on the UEFA Men's Player of the Year award last month after Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk scooped the honour ahead of him.
Ronaldo was at the event in Monaco alongside fierce rival Messi, who he candidly praised for pushing him to his best during his time at Los Blancos.
"We shared the stage, me and him for 15 years," the Portugal captain told BT Sport.
"I don't know if it has ever happened in football before, it's not easy.
"We have a good relationship, we have not had a dinner together yet, but I hope in the future.
"Of course I miss playing in Spain, we had that battle over the last 15 years.
"He pushed me and I pushed him as well, it's good to be part of the history of football."
Will Ronaldo be in this year's FIFPro World XI?
