Ronald Koeman has voiced his disappointment about the way Manchester United handled the sacking of Louis van Gaal. The Dutch duo aren't on the best terms following a fall out when they were both at Ajax together, but Koeman believes the way United treated van Gaal was wrong.
The 64-year old came under immense scrutiny for his style of play at United, but guided the team to the FA Cup final where a late Jesse Lingard winner meant the trophy came back to Old Trafford.
But van Gaal was dismissed mere days after, before it was officially announced on Friday morning that Jose Mourinho would be the new United boss.

Southampton manager Koeman didn't like the way United handled the situation.
"For months we were all reading that Mourinho was busy with United.
I have watched the process around Louis and Jose from a distance. If Louis was not told about getting the sack until after the FA Cup Final, then Man United as a club don't deserve a medal for the way they treated him. If you know a little bit about the business at the highest level in football, then you know that these kind of deals are not done overnight. But Louis has been put under tremendous pressure for months. This is why I admire the way he kept his dignity.
