A revenge job? Not quite.
Fekir appeared set to join Liverpool in the summer transfer window. A reported deal worth £50 million was believed to be in place. However, a move did not materialise with the player staying put in Lyon.
But Wednesday night saw him perform on English soil in the form of the Champions League.

Fekir starred for Lyon versus Manchester City. He created his sides first goal before doubling their advantage in superb fashion.
After securing all three points in a 2-1 victory, the Frenchman was asked about his failed move to Anfield.
Jan Aage Fjortoft probed Fekir on whether his superb outing was a revenge job to which he replied by saying: "It's not revenge. But I want to prove I'm a good player."

Well, he certainly proved that.
The 25-year-old attacking talent captained his Lyon team to a stunning victory against Manchester City.
Fekir pulled the strings in the attacking third which included a goal Jurgen Klopp would be proud of.

He pressed high, pounced on a mistake before eventually finding the bottom corner.
Lyon ran City ragged in the first-half largely thanks to Fekir.
