Bayern Munich have fined midfielder Renato Sanches for his comments about his lack of game-time last night.

Following the 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin, where he was a late substitute in the first game of the Bundesliga campaign, Sanches expressed his desire to leave the club after growing tired over a lack of minutes.

"This is not a good situation for me," he told Sport 1.

It is the second time that I want to join another club. But they will not let me go. 5 minutes are not enough for me."

Bayern CEO Karl Heinz-Rummenigge stated that the former Golden Boy winner would not be allowed to leave as the club still have faith in him but he has been punished for his comments.

BILD say that the Portugal international has been issued with a €10,000 fine by boss Niko Kovac, who is stamping his authority in the dressing room after being somewhat lenient in his first season at the helm.

Sanches, who will turn 22 next week, has failed to get going at Bayern Munich after joining from Benfica, with a loan spell with Swansea proving to be a disaster.

And the arrival of Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona will surely push him further down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena.

Can Sanches still turn his career around or is he running out of time?

Sound off in the comments.
