The German midfielder's quick thinking saw Real Madrid open the scoring against Valencia in Wednesday's Spanish Supercopa clash.

He swiftly placed the ball on the corner quadrant then took a few steps back before unleashing a terrific right-footed strike.

He curled the ball into the net with Valencia keeper Jaume Doménech horribly caught out as he failed to keep the ball out.

Kroos' expertly taken set-piece sent social media into overdrive.

Real Madrid went onto beat Valencia 3-1, with Isco and Luka Modric adding to Kroos' stunning goal. Daniel Parejo pulled one back from the spot in stoppage time.
