West Brom shocked fans on social media with their 2-1-7 formation at kick-off before adopting an extremely defensive shape.
The Baggies kicked off the Premier League fixture against Liverpool with not one but FIVE players on the right wing.

Sam Allardyce's side then 'parked the bus', putting literally every man behind the ball as they camped inside their own half.

Fans on Twitter mocked West Brom's shape, calling the formation 6-4-0 and 5-5 with their attackers playing very, very deep.
West Brom are playing a 6-4 formation out of possession. You heard me right. 6-4.

I've seen some defensive set-ups in my time but West Brom's 6-4-0 formation here from the off is impressively miserable

Despite their numbers in defence, West Brom failed to keep out Sadio Mane who smashed home from close range in the 12th minute after Joel Matip pierced a delightful pass.
Well, that didn't take long! It's razor sharp from Mane as Liverpool take the lead!

What's more, according to Richard Jolly, West Brom did NOT complete an outfield pass between them in the opening 16 minutes.
16 minutes in and six West Brom outfield players have completed no passes between them.
