Barcelona fans are struggling to come to terms with the departure of Lionel Messi.

In fact, one devastated supporter made his feelings known in an incredibly emotional moment outside the Camp Nou gates on Thursday night, as the news began to really hit home.

It will go down as one of the biggest shocks in football history. On Thursday night, Barcelona confirmed in a statement that their greatest ever player would not be staying at his boyhood club because of financial and structural obstacles.

After so many years of success, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner will wear another club crest in the coming months - a fact many people are struggling to comprehend - some more than others.

In footage that has since gone viral on social media, a broken-hearted Barca fan let his feelings known outside the famous Camp Nou gates.

The man can be seen weeping on the floor while cradling his precious Messi shirt. He then directs his anger by pointing at the stadium where the Argentinian made history.

Blaugrana fans all over the world have reacted badly to Messi's departure, including this emotional streamer.

In a live reaction to Barcelona's statement on their Twitter page, BarcaBoy was in tears after reading the news. "What's next?" he asks. "We're going to finish 10th in La Liga? We're not going to win sh*t. We're not going to win sh*t."

The footage soon went viral.

Hundreds of devastated Barcelona fans gathered outside of the Camp Nou shortly after the news emerged, with many just sitting on the curb, contemplating what life is going to be like without their star player.
