The Player Who Arrived For A Manchester United Medical Was A Reserve Goalkeeper

It wasn't the Genk midfielder Sander Berge.

The player who arrived at Carrington for a Manchester United medical was a reserve goalkeeper, not Sander Berge.

Reports had claimed Berge arrived at Carrington to undergo a medical ahead of completing a transfer to United, but the player who arrived was actually a 15-year-old stopper.

According to MEN and Mail, a goalkeeper arrived at Carrington this morning not the Norwegian midfielder.

Needless to say, the Carrington mix-up sent social media into overdrive.

"Yeah I'm done with United," one social media user wrote.

A second tweeted: "I enjoyed that 5 minutes."

A third tweeted: "Solskjaer tomorrow in his pre-match interview: 'It's like a new signing.'"

A fourth added: "Can we just skip the next few days. This transfer talk is all over the place."

Another joked: "I just want this club to liquidate ASAP."

Berge has been the subject of interest from Sheffield United. He rejected a bid from The Blades last summer with Chris Wilder renewing their pursuit of the 21-year-old this month.
