Harry Maguire was playing for Hull City when he joined his mates to watch England at the European Championships in 2016. Two years later, the lad nicknamed 'slab head' is scoring in the World Cup quarter-final.

England manager Gareth Southgate has put his trust in Maguire after some doubted his inclusion in the 23-man squad, but the centre-back has repaid his faith with a flurry of solid performances alongside John Stones and Kyle Walker.

It has been an incredible journey for the 25-year-old, who plays his football at Premier League side Leicester City.

He was watching the Three Lions as a fan two years ago and now, he will come up against either Russia or Croatia in the World Cup semi-final. Incredible.

The fact that Maguire only made his debut in February this year against Lithuania is testament to his progression in recent months.

Can England go on and win the World Cup this summer? Can Maguire help them create history in Russia?
