José Mourinho on Joshua Kimmich: "I see him as a top right-back, left-back, centre-back, No.6, No.8, No.10... he has the qualities to be anything. I think he's phenomenal; an absolutely phenomenal player."
The Tottenham manager is right. It's rare to find a player that can be labelled under the 'world class' category in more than one position but the ever-improving Kimmich has transitioned from the most consistent right-back in Europe into an even better all round centre-midfielder.
The 25-year-old has improved year on year at Bayern Munich since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2015 and this campaign has been no different. The German international has registered 10 assists in the Bundesliga so far this season; more than any other player in the league.
Joshua Kimmich now has 10 assists in the Bundesliga this season. More than any other player. Incredible when you consider he's missed SIX league games through injury.

In fact, during Bayern's convincing 4-1 win against Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon, Kimmich notched his 50th assist in his 159th Bundesliga game; just days after he completed a hat-trick of assists in their 4-0 win against Schalke.

It has been a quite remarkable campaign for the Rottweil-born full-back turned deep-lying midfielder, and a clip posted by Bundesliga's official YouTube channel provides a detailed, tactical analysis explaining how Kimmich has evolved into arguably the most complete player in world football right now.
He has certainly established himself as one of Bayern's most important players; thanks in part to his remarkable versatility.
Here's a look at what makes him so good. This is brilliant.
Kimmich is clearly a hugely influential member of Bayern's current side and his nickname the 'mentality monster' sums up his incredible attitude, both on and off the pitch.
"As long as I've known him, his mentality is very special," Munich manager Hansi Flick said of Kimmich after the club's Supercup victory against Sevilla.
"He is well on his way to being one of the players that shape this club.
"I always think about when I can give him a break," Flick continued. "But then I have to expect he'll be angry. He always wants to be on the pitch.
Joshua Kimmich has evolved from a world-class right-back into a world-class centre-midfielder and refined that world-class delivery.
