Spanish Police Attack Celtic Fans With Batons In Shocking Scenes
Spanish police are taking a lot of criticism from Celtic fans due to their aggressive approach to policing the travelling support ahead of tonight's game against Valencia.
Thousands of Hoops supporters arrived in the Spanish city yesterday ahead of the Europa League last 32 second leg clash with the La Liga giants.
And most would have been looking forward to some fun in the sun given it's going to be a very tough task for Brendan Rodgers' men to overturn a 2-0 first leg defeat.
Unfortunately, some scenes from the city suggest the Celtic supporters have been getting unfairly treated by the police.
People just out enjoying themselves, police start slowly closing in from across the street closer and closer and then attack for the sake of hitting folk! pic.twitter.com/THoc9EJvk4- Ciaran H (@_ciaranhaughey) February 20, 2019
This video gives just a little glimpse into what some had to deal with last night.
Appearing to show no threat to the police, an innocent female Celtic fan was knocked to the ground for attempting to film their heavy-handed approach.
"Tried to get one of the videos of police hitting folk last night while walking back to the apartment so they hit me."

Fortunately, it seems the fan wasn't seriously hurt by the incident.
Hopefully there will be no more unsavoury scenes like this during the remainder of Celtic's stay in Valencia.
