Premier League champions Manchester City picked up another three points against Tottenham on Monday night after Riyad Mahrez's early strike earned them a deserved victory.
But an incident involving their left-back Benjamin Mendy has somewhat put a dampener on the performance at Wembley. In the 91st minute, Mendy looked to throw a punch at Tottenham's Eric Lamela.

Thankfully the Frenchman missed completely, instead swiping mid-air.
It went unnoticed by the officials but many believe the World Cup winner should receive retrospective action for his reaction.
It didn't take long for social media to pick up on the incident, with many calling for a long, retrospective ban.
One twitter user said: "Oh and on a side note if Mendy doesn't get a ban for that attempted punch on Lamela I'd be shocked! Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a professional footballer!"

While another said: "Benjamin Mendy, beyond having two poor mistakes today, should've seen a straight red for this. Cannot even imagine if it landed; could've seriously hurt Lamela. He deserves a ban if there's retrospective action."
Thoughts on the above incident? Does Mendy deserve to be banned?
