If you're looking for a partnership that personifies the attacking intent and flair of every Manchester United team in history, then look no further than Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The quite extraordinary numbers behind their time at Old Trafford speak volumes.

In the 2006/07 campaign alone, both men netted 23 goals each while guiding United to another league title under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Then a season later, with the help of Rooney's unselfish nature and creativity, the ever-improving Ronaldo would score 43 goals in 49 games across all competitions as he lifted the European Golden Boot.

Rooney and Ronaldo then directly combined for six goals during their final year [08/09] together - a joint-record for the club in a Premier League season. Not bad, really.

The pair would only spend five years together at Old Trafford after the latter joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 but in that time, they formed one of the greatest partnerships ever seen in English football, if not world football.

Despite a famous incident during the 2006 World Cup, when the Portuguese international winked at the bench after Rooney seen red after stamping on Ricardo Carvalho, both Rooney and Ronaldo shared a great relationship off the pitch at Old Trafford; as seen in this classic interview below.

It's a chat that starts with Ronaldo adjusting Rooney's fringe for the cameras and well, things only gets better from there.

The pair talk about their blossoming relationship on the pitch, as well as trivial questions off it. Rooney then asks his teammate who United's best player was around that time - and of course the ever-confident Ronaldo fancies himself.

"Who is the best player at the club?" Rooney laughs. "He wants to say himself..."

They soon speak about which player at United has the best music taste, as well as the club's best trainer and biggest joker.

It's just an all-round great interview that showcases a different, more personal side to their relationship.

Do you consider the Ronaldo/Rooney partnership as one of the best in football history?
