Robert Firmino's goal against Aston Villa was controversially disallowed by VAR despite the striker being onside.
Liverpool went behind after Trezeguet's goal in the 21st minute and the visitors thought they had leveled when their Brazilian forward hit the back of the net as Sadio Mane curled a lovely ball across the box.
But his goal was chalked off even though he appeared to be in an onside position. Check it out below:
More horrendous VAR bullshit

Naturally, VAR was the talk of the first-half. Here's some reaction from social media.
Firmino's nipple, or something, deemed offside by an inconclusive VAR graphic. VAR will surely improve but at the moment it seems so pedantic and imperfect.

VAR (Martin Atkinson) has just said Firmino was offside for his goal. Absolute farce. pic.twitter.com/1SLC97KlB6

Firmino has had a goal disallowed for offside. He wasn't offside but VAR decided he was offside. When it comes to VAR I'm now offside.

Still 1-0 Villa.
Firmino looked onside on first viewing.

Firmino's arm is offside, no goal. Not sure about that one.

In the press box we're shown multiple replays in which Roberto Firmino is onside. Goal not given. Erm.....

Liverpool went on to beat Villa thanks to two late goals from Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane in injury time.
