Eleven years ago today, Gary Megson's Bolton Wanderers arrived at the Allianz Arena to face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup, fully expecting to get thrashed after languishing at the bottom of the Premiership table with just one win.
As the likes of Gavin McCann, Ricardo Gardner and Kevin Davies came up against Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franc Ribery and Miroslav Klose in Munich, the 66,000 attendance expected goals, but not from lowly Bolton Wanderers.
The Allianz was stunned into silence early on as Ricardo Gardner's deflected shot eight minutes in gave Megson's side lead a shock lead.
Gasps of disbelief rang around the stadium.
It didn't last. Lukas Podolski equalised for the Bundesliga leaders on the half-hour mark with a low drive, before claiming his second just after the break as the trio of Ribery, Klose and Podolski threatened to rip The Trotters apart.
Despite the onslaught, Bolton clawed their way back in the game through a typical Kevin Davies finish past legendary keeper Oliver Kahn.
Somehow, someway - Bolton managed to hang on to secure a historic 2-2 draw against the best team in Germany.
Maybe they should have had 12 players missing more often, managing to secure Premier League status by just one point. BUT they still drew against Bayern.
Here is that Bolton side that gave Bayern nightmares back in November 2007:
Bolton: Al Habsi, Andrew O'Brien, Cid, Michalik, Gardner, Alonso (Giannakopoulos 56), Nolan, Guthrie, McCann, Braaten (Teymourian 77), Davies.
Subs Not Used: Walker, Speed, Harsanyi, Sinclair, Sissons.
Booked: Davies, Braaten, Cid, Andrew O'Brien.
Goals: Gardner 8, Davies 82.
And here is that Bayern side:
Bayern Munich: Kahn, Jansen, Lucio, Van Buyten, Lell, Ribery (Kroos 60), Ottl, Van Bommel, Schweinsteiger (Altintop 73), Podolski (Toni 57), Klose.
Subs Not Used: Rensing, Ze Roberto, Schlaudraff, Sosa.
Goals: Podolski 30, 49.
