Rio Ferdinand has sent Manchester United fans into meltdown with his latest social media activity.

On Wednesday night, Bayern Munich travelled to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to take on Real Madrid with a place in the Champions League final at stake.

The tie is well in the balance after the first leg between the pair ended in an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena

Ahead of the match, former United man Ferdinand was seen embracing Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel.

Afterwards, the Englishman posted a video of the pair’s interactive, with two crying laughter and eyes emojis.

Over the last few days, Tuchel has been heavily linked with a move to United as pressure continues to mount of Erik ten Hag after his side’s poor recent form.

A third fan added: “You were telling him you hope he gets the United job ! Don’t deny it Rio … I hope he does.”

Someone else wrote: “Rio tell TT to join Manchester United.”

A fifth commented: “Agent Rio is that you?”

After United's recent 4-0 defeat by Crystal Palace in the Premier League, there have been reports that Ten Hag could be moved on during the summer.

The likes of Tuchel, Gareth Southgate, Zinedine Zidane and Graham Potter have all been linked with replacing the Dutchman at Old Trafford.

However, speaking after the Palace defeat, Ten Hag vowed to continue fighting.

He said: “I will keep fighting. I prepared the team in the best way I could do. It was not good enough, I have to take responsibility for that but I will find energy and prepare them for Sunday's game.”

United will be back in Premier League action this weekend when they take on leaders Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
