On this day in 2006, United snapped up Evra in a deal worth £5.5 million and it proved to be a very, very shrewd piece of business.

The left-back enjoyed a prolific spell at Old Trafford, spending nine illustrious seasons at the club.

The Frenchman played over 300 games for United, scoring 10 goals whilst winning the lot as he also donned the captain's armband.
