He's paid tribute to his former boss, but it hasn't gone down well.

The footballing community continues to pay tribute to Arsene Wenger who is to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

His managerial counterparts, former and current players have shared their fond memories of the French professor, including Ashley Cole.

The left-back enjoyed a trophy-laden career with the Gunners before eventually sealing a switch across London. In 2006, he transferred to Chelsea where he won the Champions League.

And Cole is the latest player to thank his ex-boss, posting a classy message.

However, Arsenal fans were quick to reply to his Tweet, while recalling the moment he 'swerved' his car after hearing his new contract offer.

End of an era for Mr Wenger. Who will replace him at the Emirates helm?
