The discussion between Tierney and Shaw as the best left-back in the league sent social media wild.

Liverpool fans also weighed in, bringing up Andy Robertson who's considered one of the best left-backs in the world.

One Man United fan argued: "Shaw is probably the best LB in the world at the moment mate."

A second tweeted: "Tienary is good but he ain't on Luke's level this season c'mon."

A third added: "I think only Robertson at the moment edges Tierney. Tierney has a huge potential and is pure quality. But, Robertson is just on another level by virtue Of its consistency, intensity, experience, crossing ability and individual honours. Tierney would get into any team bar LFC."
