Barcelona said goodbye to one of their all time greats on Sunday evening.

The great Andres Iniesta took his final steps on the Camp Nou turf and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. In the 82nd minute, he proceeded to give the captain's armband to Lionel Messi and sobbed as he was replaced for the final time.

Head in hands on the subs bench, Iniesta's name was chanted around the stadium for several minutes as the Catalan locals hailed the midfielder that has brought so much joy and happiness to this famous stadium in years gone by.

It was a moment like no other.

After the full-time whistle, Barcelona held a ceremony to celebrate Iniesta's magnificent 17 year career at the club.

Teammates swarmed the pitch and threw the midfielder in the air as tears were shed by many. Iniesta then gave a memorable goodbye speech and hugged every single member of the squad and backroom staff to thank them for their service.

Clearly it was a tough moment for Iniesta to say goodbye to all those precious memories and a moment captured in the early hours of Monday morning sums everything up perfectly.

As you see in the footage above, the 34-year-old sat in the middle of the centre circle with nobody around him. Soaking up all the good times in what has been a sensational career with Barcelona.

Twitter user @davphoto20 captured the moment, while Iniesta looked around, barefooted, wondering what next.

It looks like Iniesta may join the Chinese Super League in the coming months, but Yahoo Sport claim that negotiations are already underway to make Andres Iniesta a player/manager at Manchester City.

The fact that the midfielder could join former boss Pep Guardiola at the Etihad next season has certainly left fans excited.

The rumours do make sense. Mikel Arteta is set to leave his role as assistant, with a move to become Arsenal manager reportedly imminent.
