The German boss is still hopeful of signing Werner. Though Klopp won't be impressed with what his transfer target has said about fierce rivals, United.

Werner has said he dreamed of playing at Old Trafford when he was growing up.

"As a young boy, you always dream of the big club you'd like to play for," he told Sky Sports via Goal.

Werner took his club form into the international arena after making his Germany debut in 2017. He's netted six goals from eight international caps as he continues to enhance his reputation.

He also recalls watching United under Sir Alex Ferguson. "It used to be Manchester United under Alex Ferguson, who always won. A young boy is always a fan of those who win."
