Rafael van der Vaart Launches Scathing Attack On Harry Maguire

Rafael van der Vaart has launched a scathing attack on Harry Maguire as he's compared the Manchester United star to Sunday League defenders.

Van der Vaart is clearly not impressed with Maguire and has claimed Virgil van Dijk is worth €300 million (£258 million) based on the England international's £80 million transfer from Leicester City in the summer.

"When I go to see an amateur club on Sunday, I can find 3 players who can play like him," he said on Dutch television during United vs. Liverpool.

The ex-Spurs midfielder added: "I mean that. It might be silly to say it but he won't hear it anyway.

"We are talking about a €90M signing here. Then Van Dijk is worth €300M."

Both Maguire and Van Dijk failed to keep a clean sheet on Sunday as United and Liverpool drew 1-1 at Old Trafford.

Maguire, however, made 10 clearances against Liverpool - twice as many as any other player on the pitch.
