France recorded a 3-1 victory over Italy in the friendly at the Stade de France but a large section of the home supporters booed their own player, Paul Pogba, as he left the pitch.
Pogba wasn't on top form and one woeful effort from range that ended up closer to the corner flag than the goal, led to him receiving jeers in the second half.
Goals from Samuel Umtiti, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele helped Les Bleus' prepare for the showpiece in Russia, but the treatment of Pogba was the main talking point.
Marseille forward Florian Thauvin was also booed when replacing Kylian Mbappe seven minutes from time and manager Didier Deschamps had the following to say on it:
"The whistles for Paul Pogba? It's not just for him, at one point we kept the ball and they whistled too," he told TF1, via Metro.

"The public also prefers to score five, six goals but it's high level, there is a team in front of us.
"The players do the right thing. 'Are they affected or not, I do not know... I will not remember that, but if it maybe could not be the case, it would be better."
Pogba's compatriot Corentin Tolisso was also asked about the booing after the game and slammed those who decided to whistle:
