Mere minutes into the game and one chap had darted onto the hallowed turf at the Theatre of Dreams, setting his sights on getting over to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
Even with a steward slipping, he was dealt with by security - having been pinned down on the edge of the penalty box while United were lining up to take an early free-kick.

However, he did just about succeed in his quest to be in Ronaldo's presence, crawling and stretching his arm out before eventually getting a high-five off the footballing phenomenon.
The fella will most likely get a lifetime ban but at least he shared a moment with one of the all-time greats.

Earlier this year, Ronaldo was subject to another intruder when playing for Portugal against Netherlands in March but this situation played out a lot differently.
He was approached by a fan, who tried to plant a kiss on the Sporting CP youth product.
Seconds later he attempted to take a photograph, but it wasn't exactly successful as a seemingly frustrated Ronaldo looked on.
