He had started his spell with a huge win over Manchester City on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.
But performances have slipped since Spurs' win over Pep Guardiola's team, falling to eighth place following their fifth league defeat of the campaign.
Man United landed the final blow on Nuno, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team winning 3-0.

Prior to their home defeat to Man United, it's been claimed that Nuno's position had not been under threat.
However, the team's underwhelming performances has been a concern among the club's board for several weeks.
And the manner of their latest defeat and the angry fan reaction to his decision making during the game forced the club into action.
Levy and the club's hierarchy held an emergency on Sunday where they decided to sack Nuno.
