New video offers unique insight into the mindset of Lionel Messi and his 'never settle' mentality.

An amazing new film by Gatorade was launched which explores the mindset of Messi and his 'never settle' mentality as he moves to the next chapter of his incredible career.

The ad goes behind the scenes with the sports drink brand's ambassador providing an incredible glimpse into the mentality of the six-time Ballon d'Or winner at the start of an epic new journey, as he continues to strive to achieve more success and more titles.

The video ties in perfectly with Gatorade's 'The Greatest Never Settle' campaign, which offers insights from the world's very best athletes on what keeps them ultimately dedicated on the path to greatness.

The aim is to inspire young athletes - at any level - to become the best they can be, by learning from what motivates the greats.

"I've always focused on being better," Messi explains. "The more you've scored, the more you should score.

"If you break a record, then make it unbreakable. Settling is not an option. Not when you're on your own. Not at any point in any game.

"It doesn't matter where you are. If you truly believe you can do more, you'll do anything to prove it."

Messi's thirst to improve - even after all he has won and the records that he has set throughout his career at Barcelona - is remarkable. So setting himself a new target of winning the biggest prizes with football with a new club proved impossible to resist.

Gatorade, the world's number one sports drink, has been a long-time supporter of Messi on that quest - helping fuel football's number one genius, whatever the future holds in his career.

In 2021, that involves leaving the club where he's thrilled football fans worldwide since he was a teenager and taking on a new challenge with Gatorade continuing to fuel him along the way.
