Working as a pundit for the BBC during Switzerland's Euro 2016 Group A fixture against hosts France, Xhaka anchored the Swiss midfield, and put in a dogged performance against the likes of Paul Pogba.
But despite turning in a decent display against one of world football's outstanding midfields, Xhaka failed to win over Hibs manager Lennon, who gave the £30 million signing a bit of a lukewarm review:
