Inter Milan Prepare To Hijack Manchester United’s Move For Paulo Dybala With Their Swap Deal

Manchester United have been alerted to the possibility of Inter Milan scuppering their stunning move for Paulo Dybala.

The Red Devils are closing in on the Juventus star, 25, in a proposed swap deal for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, 26.

According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Inter are ready to throw a spanner in the works by proposing their swap deal with the Italian champions.

Inter would reportedly be ready to offer former club captain Mauro Icardi, 26, in a straight swap for Dybala.

Club boss Antonio Conte wanted Lukaku to be his marquee summer signing, but United have rejected a £54m bid launched for the Belgium international last month.

And the ex-Chelsea and Juventus manager, 50, has told Inter outcast Icardi that he doesn't fit in his plans at the club.

The Argentine striker, who was linked with the Old Lady in recent months, has also attracted interest from Napoli.

Icardi is under contract until 2021 and Inter are holding out for a whopping £80m fee for the Argentina international.

Inter legend Sandro Mazzola said last month he would prefer if Conte kept hold of Icardi rather than make a move for Lukaku.

"As for the attack, Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko are two points of global value, but I will always choose Mauro Icardi," he told NewNotizie.

"Between Lukaku and the Bosnian I would always choose Mauro, he is an incredible footballer and [I'm] sorry to see it on the market."

Dybala returned to Juventus training on Thursday after an extended break following his international duties in this summer's Copa America.

The Juventus forward met with club boss Maurizio Sarri about his future amid speculation over a move to Old Trafford.

But Dybala recently dropped a hint on social media that he wants to remain at the Old Lady ahead of the new season.

Should Juventus accept Inter's offer?
