We've had the Cruyff Turn and the Maradona but a lesser known signature skill is Mesut Ozil's trademark bounce shot.
Ozil has perfected his signature shooting technique, almost kicking the ball into the ground with his in-step so that it bounces agonisingly out of the reach of goalkeepers.
It's as if he created topspin through his unique technique as rather than an ordinary chip, the pace on the ball can prove too much to handle.
It looks like a simple finish at first glances but it's not the case and the former Real Madrid man broke it down brilliantly in a clip that has been doing the rounds on social media.
The 'Özil bounce' technique explained. Love this. pic.twitter.com/SzcT94NEKB- TikiTakaConnor (@TikiTakaConnor) May 13, 2020
He explained: "In the past many had thought it was merely a miss-hit shot on Ozil's part but the above clips shows that he shoots in this way to outwit goalkeepers.
"If I'm running in front of the goal and the goalkeeper is jumping like that, sometimes if you make a chip the defender can run and clear it.
'"If you chip the ball it will go slowly to the goal, if you do it like this it's still a chip but quicker. If you do it like that with power so the ball is going over the goalkeeper, don't forget they are always jumping to the left or right.
"If you show them you will shoot and they are jumping they will never expect that."
He's used the skill to score past both Simon Mignolet and Jonas Lossl in games against Liverpool and Huddersfield before, as well as with his weaker foot in a 5-0 Champions League thumping of Ludogorets a few years back.
What's more, he's utilised the technique as a way to play a through ball when playing for Germany against Denmark at Euro 2012, while there's many clips of him doing it in training too.
Simply put, Ozil is a revolutionary and we look forward to the next time he busts out his magic move.
