Mauro Icardi has completed a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain, who have the option of outright purchasing him for a reported €70 million fee next summer per Sky Italia.

The Argentine striker looked destined to move on from Inter Milan this summer after being ostracised from the squad by new boss Antonio Conte, who made Romelu Lukaku his No.9 after signing in a £74 million deal.

PSG decided to swoop in on deadline day and after he and his agent/wife Wanda flew into the French capital for a medical today, the Parisiens managed to get the transfer boxed off in time.

Icardi becomes Thomas Tuchel's seventh signing of the summer and their second today following the £13.5 million capture of Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who has signed a four-year deal.

Signed from Sampdoria in 2013, Icardi scored a total of 124 goals in 219 appearances for the Nerazzurri but his relationship with the club's supporters soured greatly - namely because of comments in his autobiography and the sheer regularity of his other half and agent trying to get him a new and improved contract.

Having been stripped of the captaincy in February, Icardi made a scoring return to the side in April after a lengthy absence but some Inter ultras decided not to celebrate his goals.

The Curva Nud group then issued a statement urging the club to get rid of him.

"After an internal meeting, all the Curva Nord groups unanimously decided that the behaviour of the Nerazzurri No 9 mustn't be tolerated any longer," the statement read, as per Football Italia.

"The Nord believes Icardi has shown that he doesn't possess the necessary character, not just for the captain's armband but also for a united dressing room.

"With this release, we invite Inter to take the necessary measures as soon as possible to remove him from a squad who don't seem to have the slightest intention of sharing the immediate path with him and the future."

While all those connected with Inter are happy to see the back of him, his arrival is timely for PSG given recent injuries to Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

The 26-year old could make his PSG debut in the big Champions League group stage clash with Real Madrid after the international break.
