Mario Balotelli Wants Liverpool Player To Join Him At Nice

Mario Balotelli is lobbying for his current club Nice to sign Liverpool's out-of-favour defender Mamadou Sakho.

Sakho has been completely frozen out at Liverpool. The Frenchman was hit with a suspension at the back-end of last season for failing a drugs test but was found to have not done anything wrong.

More drama came in the summer though when the defender was sent home early from the club's tour of the United States for being "disrespectful" following missed a flight, training session and team dinner.

The former PSG man is yet to play a single minute for Jurgen Klopp's table-topping Reds and Balotelli wants his former teammate to return to Ligue One and join him at Nice.

Speaking to Telefoot, he said:

"I speak to him from time to time. What a waste a player like that doesn't play. He's one of the best defenders I've come across. He should play every game. He should leave. If he wants to come ... I'm going to ask him. I'm really going to ask him. In January? It would be good."

Balotelli has been rejuvinated at Nice this season and has scored seven goals in nine appearances.
