Manchester United are predicted not to win any major silverware under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, despite challenging for the Premier League title.

That's according to talkSPORT co-host Simon Jordan, who has insisted that the Norwegian head coach is "not going to win anything this year."

The 53-year-old former Crystal Palace owner explained: "You can't argue with the fact that Man United have beaten another Premier League team 9-0. But it doesn't alter the central theme.

"I don't care about the trolls on Twitter that seem to pop up. I didn't hear a word about what an imbecile I was last week when Sheffield United beat Man United.

"Here they are now again, saying 'Here you go, Jordan, what have you got to say about that?'

"What I've got to say about that is they are second in the league and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not going to win anything this year."

Jordan has been a vocal critic of Solskjaer in the past and claimed the United boss would not "reach the standards that I think Frank Lampard will," despite Lampard later getting the sack at Chelsea.

The Red Devils went level on points with league leaders Manchester City after thumping Southampton 9-0 at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

United are still in the FA Cup and progressed to the fifth round after beating Liverpool 3-2 at Old Trafford last month.

Solskjaer's men will host David Moyes' West Ham side in the next round of the competition on 9th February.

The Red Devils could also eye up silverware in Europe this season after dropping into the Europa League.

United, who were knocked out of the Europa League semi-finals by Sevilla last season, will resume their campaign in Europe this month.

Solskjaer's side will travel away to Real Sociedad on 18th February for the first leg of their round-of-32 match.

United will welcome Sociedad to Old Trafford on 25th February for the second leg of their Europa League clash.
