There's a second bit of Liverpool transfer news today, following on from reports that Liverpool had agreed personal terms with Burnley defender Michael Keane, who has been linked with just about every Premier League club.

Melissa Reddy from Goal reports that Liverpool are eyeing a move for former Chelsea flop Mohamed Salah in the summer.

The Reds have been dealt a blow when it comes to one of their top targets, as Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt recently spoke about his concerns with a lack of game-time ahead of the 2018 World Cup should he move on in the summer.

Speaking to German magazine Focus, he said:

"If you make the move, there is no guarantee that you'll play.

"I believe that it's important that I get a lot of games next season, and that is a given here at Leverkusen."

And it seems as though Liverpool see Salah as an alternative.

Liverpool were desperate to land the Egyptian winger back in 2014, before he was signed by Jose Mourinho and Chelsea after a couple of impressive displays against the Blues when playing for Swiss side Basel in the Champions League.

He endured a nightmare stint at Stamford Bridge though, making just 19 appearances and subsequently being loaned out to both Fiorentina and Roma.

Having signed permanently for Roma in a £16m deal in the summer, he's been in fine form this season - scoring 13 goals and contributing further with 10 assists in 28 appearances.

Salah's strong displays has caused Liverpool to revive their interest, though Goal state that Roma understandably would not be keen on losing one of their key assets currently signed to a deal until 2019, on the cheap so Jurgen Klopp will have to cough up a considerable fee.

Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has also been heavily linked and is said to be a more likely addition. The Southampton youth product would reportedly cost around £20m.
