Lionel Messi's son, Mateo, accidentally celebrated when he thought Barcelona's shot against the side-netting - prompting hilarious reactions from both his father and his strike partner Luis Suarez.

With their two key men absent through injury, Barca beat Betis 5-2 at the Nou Camp - goals from Antoine Griezmann (2), Carles Perez, Jordi Alba and Arturo Vidal ensuring the Blaugrana got back to winning ways following the 1-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in last week's opening game of the season.

Suarez and Messi were supporting Barca from the stands throughout the 90 minutes and the Argentine's middle child got a bit too ahead of him.

A clip doing the rounds shows Mateo nearly jump out of his seat - - leading to smiles and laughs all round in the Messi/Suarez clan.

Initially it was thought that Mateo was celebrating one of Real Betis' two goals in the game but the video is in fact from a missed chance for the home side.

The little lad has also become a bit of a meme for his reaction to Barca's fourth goal.

Mateo has a habit of being a troll, with Messi revealing in June that he plays as teams that have beaten his dad when having a kick-about and even celebrates Real Madrid's goals for a reaction from his older brother.

"We were playing at home and we're going for a kick-about. Mateo said to me: 'You're Barça and I'm Liverpool, 'cos I'll beat you.' He's got a lot to learn," he said.

"Sometimes the telly is on and he cheers Madrid's goals. My son Thiago gets annoyed and Mateo cheers them to annoy him," he explained.
