Lionel Messi may be the highest-rated player on FIFA 21 but the Argentine has been displaced as the best passer on the game.

Despite laying on 21 assists for his Barcelona teammates in La Liga last term, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner's passing rating has gone down by one to 91.

As a result Messi has been knocked off his perch by 2019/20 PFA Player of the Year Kevin De Bruyne, with the pair having been level last year.

After equalling Thierry Henry's Premier League assist record in a stunning individual season, the Belgian international is not only the highest-rated midfielder - he is officially the best passer on FIFA 21 - with a staggering 93 for that attribute.

Real Madrid's Toni Kroos is level with Messi on 91 passing, with Villarreal summer signing Dani Parejo fourth in the passing rankings after being rated 90 for that element of his game.

Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United has been ranked the second best passer in the Premier League, on 88, after a wonderful start to life at Manchester United.

Christian Eriksen and David Silva, two FIFA favourites over the years, also have the same passing statistic as the Portugal international.

Meanwhile, playing crossfield passes with Trent Alexander-Arnold on FIFA 21 should be even more fun this year after his passing was bumped up five marks to 87.

Somehow, even with setting a new record for passes in 45 minutes during his debut against Chelsea, his new teammate Thiago Alcantara only has 85 passing, which has been one of many decisions the FIFA community have been in uproar over in regards to the new batch of ratings.

Here is the list of best passers in full:
